FAQ
1. What is Virtual LockBoxTM? Similar to a bank vault, Virtual LockBoxTM allows users to upload and store images, video, audio and document files in a secure virtual vault for future delivery to a specified recipient. Virtual LockBoxTM allows you to document your life, your legacy, your achievements, your story, and your values and share them with your friends and family at the time of your choosing. Know, that if you suddenly left this world, your final thoughts and messages to your loved ones will live on. You can also create messages for your friends and family members to receive on their birthdays and anniversaries. Top 2. How does it Work? Simply register and create your account with Virtual LockBoxTM . After you have registered and verified your account, you are ready to create a lockbox. Once a lockbox is created, we will automatically notify the recipient of your lockbox (Date Driven LockBox only). On the date the box is to be activated, we will email the password and a system generated ID number which the recipient will need to access and view the contents of his or her lockbox. Top 3. What is Date Driven vs. Event Driven & Life in Progress? Date Driven: A Date Driven Virtual Lockbox is intended to be received on a specific date in the future. For example, you could upload a personal video message for your father's upcoming birthday. You specify the date you want him to view your message and on that day, we will send him the password and a system generated ID he will need to unlock the box and view the contents of your message. You may also want to use the date driven Virtual LockBoxTM to release a message to a family member or a friend 5, 10 or 15 years from now. Whichever date you choose, Virtual LockBoxTM will deliver your message in a safe and reliable manner. Event Driven: An Event Driven Virtual LockBox is used to upload messages for any event that you can't yet pinpoint the date, but want the assurance that it will get sent no matter what happens to you. By selecting an Event Driven LockBox, you ensure that the lockbox will get sent, upon a specified event determined by you. Once an Event Driven LockBox is created, ShareMyLife Inc./Virtual LockBox will issue the creator of the Event Driven LockBox with the system generated ID and the password they created. It is then up to the LockBox creator to leave specific instructions as to how the recipient can access the contents. For example, one may choose to have the instructions, password, ID written down in their final will or estate; or to leave these instructions with a friend, family member or a trustee. As a convenience, when creating an Event Driven LockBox, you have the option of selecting the "notify recipient(s) about existence of Virtual LockBox" in which case we will automatically send an email advising them of the LockBox (without the password and ID), but you will still be responsible for leaving specific instructions for them on how to obtain the password and ID as explained above. Life in Progress: If you are in the process of collecting information to document your legacy and not quite ready to assign the LockBox to a recipient, you may want to choose the Life in Progress option instead. When you are ready to send your Life in Progress LockBox, change your LockBox designation from Life in Progress to either a Date Driven or Event Driven LockBox. Top 4.
